Vowels are the tricky sounds in English. The vowel valley can be a useful tool to help recognize which vowel sounds children might mix up. When two vowels are next to each other in the valley, it means they are quite similar and may cause confusion. If a child is having trouble distinguishing between two vowel sounds, you can use this chart to show them the differences in those sounds.
