R-control vowels can be a bit tricky because they have the "r" letter working alongside the vowel to create a unique sound. These special vowels can make one of three different sounds.
In R-controlled or "Bossy R" syllables, the vowel sound is distinct and controlled by the letter "r", neither long nor short.
